Why Does My Child's Account Need Parent Verification?

If your child is under 13, U.S. law (the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, or COPPA) requires ParPro to obtain verifiable parental consent before we collect any personal information from them. That's why your child's account is blocked from use until a parent or guardian completes verification.

Different Ages in Different Places

Some countries set a higher "digital age of consent" than 13:

  • European Union: between 13 and 16, depending on the country
  • United Kingdom: we follow the UK Children's Code

Wherever local law sets a higher age, ParPro applies the local age - so in some countries you may be asked to verify for a child who is 14 or 15.

What If My Link Has Expired?

Verification links can expire. If yours has, don't worry - you can simply request a new one from the app, and your child's account picks up right where it left off once you complete verification.
